||1965 was a premiere year for Cadillac. Not only did Cadillac offer the new stylish body featuring vertical headlights, and sleeker fins, but the mechanics were some of the finest Cadillac had ever produced. The 425 cubic inch V-8 motor and new transmission introduced in 1964 were even further refined by 1965. A real powerhouse on wheels. This is the best color you could have chosen in 1965 - a very deep red, with contrasting original black top and top boot. The original black leather interior was dry from some 30 years of storage and had been removed by the owner for refurbishing. Unfortunately, a change in health prevented him from finishing the interior. Fortunately we found a beautiful tan replacement interior (replacement value around $5,000) from another Cadillac that was owned by a professional upholstery man. This replacement, seen in the photos, appears to be done in the correct style, down to the perforated material, however it is done in vinyl, not leather. The original black leather interior is available for an extra $500 plus any shipping / crating costs to the person that buys this car.
