The cab is possibly one of the straightest ones we've seen as most Midwestern vehicles this old have lots of rust. This one does have some rust, but minimal compared to other ones we have seen of the period. The prior owner was going to give it a valve job, removed the heads but nothing more has ever been done. This pickup is so straight that even the normally damaged grill is gorgeous. We are told that it was originally ordered as a flatbed pickup without the box as they had the same chassis. The prior owner had removed the flatbed and was going to put a pickup box on the rear but never got around to it and the original flatbed pieces whereabouts are unknown. Although this is believed to be mostly complete, the radio is likewise gone. Otherwise this is about as nice an original V8 Ford Pickup as we have seen in a number of years. |
